Did you know that Satan lost this week? He tried to get to
us, didn’t he? He did his best to attack our children, our friends, and our
faith. Yet, Jesus was watching, and at just the perfect moment, He put Himself
between the devil and us. This is how I know. My children and yours all had
troubles this past week, and as parents, we prayed, and were prayed for. We
used the most formidable weapon that God gave us, His Word. He tells us in
Joshua 1:5 NIV,” No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your
life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor
forsake you”. That’s His part. Our part is to believe Him, and stand on that
promise.
Each week, just prior to church service, we have a time of
prayer, giving thanks and praise to God, and asking for forgiveness and
protection, and each week He delivers. He quilts the elements of our service
together in a way that we cannot help but see His presence. He reveals to us,
how He was with each one, all week. He prepares the hearts of those who are
ready to join him in heaven. He stands at the bedside of the sick and injured,
and is at our pastor’s side as they share His word each week. He is with the
physicians who look after us, and holds the hand of us all when we bend a knee
to speak to Him. With His power, He has tailor-made our suits of spiritual
armor to fit us so perfectly, that we never want to remove it. Job 30:18 NIV,
“In his great power God becomes like clothing to me; he binds me like the neck
of my garment”. He has given us the freewill to believe in Him, and every
reason never to doubt His power.
So, now the rest is up to us. We have God’s promise that He
is with us always. He sent His son Jesus to die for us, out of love. We cannot
ask any more than that from a loving Father. Now we must do our part. Let’s
replace self-pity with self-worthy. Replace that void in your life with the
giver of life, Jesus. Do this, and tomorrow you will say, yes, today Satan
lost.
