The Perfect 7-day Diet –
Peter’s Picks
‘Can You Handle the Truth?’
Day
1: Romans 12:2
– “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you
into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know
God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Day 2: Proverbs 15:21 – “Foolishness brings
joy to those with no sense; a sensible person stays on the right path.”
Day
3: Hebrews 4:12
– “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest
two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It
exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
Day 4: 2 Timothy
3:15-17
– “You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given
you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to
make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong
and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people
to do every good work.”
Day
5: Colossians 2:6-8 – “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your
Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and
let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth
you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Don’t let anyone
capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from
human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from
Christ.”
Day 6: Proverbs 2:2-7 – “Tune your ears to
wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for
understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden
treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and
you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his
mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to
the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.”
Day 7: Ephesians
1:21, 22
– “Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything
else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has
put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all
things for the benefit of the church.”
