The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘The Privilege of
Prayer’
Day 1:
Hebrews 4:15, 16 - ALWAYS AVAILABLE – “This High
Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the
same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly
to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will
find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Day 2: 1
John 5:14-16 - ASSURANCE – “And we are confident that
he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we
know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us
what we ask for. If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that
does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life.
But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for
those who commit it.”
Day 3: 1
John 1:9 - RESTORATION – “But if we confess our sins to
him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
wickedness.
Day 4: 2
Chronicles 7:14 - CHANGE CIRCUMSTANCES – “Then if my
people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their
sins and restore their land.”
Day 5:
James 5:15 - HEALING – “Such a prayer offered in faith
will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any
sins, you will be forgiven.”
Day 6:
Philippians 4:6, 7 - PEACE – “Don’t worry about
anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him
for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds
anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you
live in Christ Jesus.”
Day 7: 1
Timothy 2:1, 2 - PROTECTION – “I urge you, first
of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their
behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are
in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness
and dignity.”
