The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘Why
It’s Good to Surrender’
Day 1:
Romans 6:16-18 – “Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever
you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can
choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Thank God! Once you
were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given
you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves
to righteous living.”
Day 2:
Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit your actions to the Lord, and
your plans will succeed.”
Day 3:
Job 22:21-23 – “Submit to God, and you will have peace; then
things will go well for you. Listen to his instructions, and store
them in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored –
so clean up your life.”
Day 4:
Joel 2:13 – “Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear
your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is
merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing
love. He is eager to relent and not punish.”
Day 5:
Hebrews 4:15, 16 – “This High Priest of ours understands our
weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did
not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we
will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it
most.”
Day 6:
Matthew 11:29, 30 – “’Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you,
because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’”
Day 7: 1
John 5:3, 4 – “Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his
commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil
world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.”
