The Persecuted Church, The Upside

So, over the past four weeks we have looked at the Persecuted Church in the time of Paul and Jesus plus we have talked about the persecution in countries we can not talk about and in our own western civilization. There are some very powerful stories of miracles and faith courage in the shadow of oppression. It was a tough four weeks with the message, at times, being very convicting but there were also some incredible stories of triumph.

I received numerous emails and responses to a social experiment I tried on Facebook. A simple declaration of “Jesus is our Saviour” was met with numerous likes and loves and it was also shared, responded to and I hope there were some smiles of joy as that understanding that Jesus loves you regardless of your position. Let that one sink in. Regardless of how much you persecute the church, Jesus loves you just as much as those who have always loved Jesus with every ounce of their being. There is one key and it is one that only an individual can answer; do you accept Jesus into your heart, will you ask Him to forgive your sins and let Him know that you love Him back?

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. John 3:16‭-‬17 MSG‬

This message is so easy to communicate and, in an area where there is persecution, this is a joyous message filled with hope. The upside to persecution, there is growth and, in many cases, miraculous growth. So this Sunday, we look at the upside. Sunday Services start at 10:30 MST and can seen live on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MainAvenueFellowship/) or viewed afterwards on our website (www.mainavefellowship.blogspot.ca).

Blessings
