The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘Overcoming’
Day 1: 2 Timothy 2:23, 24 – “Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that
only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to
everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.”
Day 2: James 1:19-21 – “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to
listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the
righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives,
and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power
to save your souls."
Day 3: Proverbs 17:27 – “A truly wise person
uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered.”
Day 4: 1 Corinthians 13:4, 5 – “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or
rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no
record of being wronged.”
Day 5: Romans 12:1, 2 – “And so, dear brothers
and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has
done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind he will find
acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior
and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by
changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you,
which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Day 6: James 1:2-4 – “Dear brothers and
sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity
for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has
a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed,
you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."
Day 7: Isaiah 41:13 – “For I hold you by your right hand – I, the
Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’”
