Prayer, One Size Fits All

I have learned how prayer fits everyone. It truly is a wonderful tool and the greatest of weapons when facing any enemy of any size or description. It could be a phone call from a loved one who is frightened by a health issue, a friend dealing with a loss so close that their breath is crippled, a Pastor or leadership member going through a dry spell or injury who, for a time, loses the strength or ability to pray. When we come along side and pray for someone, we are their advocate to the Father. We need no experience or training, as God will always fill our mouths and hearts with the words of comfort when we are obedient to His call.

If you can pray out loud, do so, and if you cannot, use your heart, as God will hear it just the same. As individuals, we pray in our own language. That is, prayer that has no established formula or structure. We simply invite Jesus into our heart and speak with Him. He cares not about polished rehearsals or catch phrases. He knows your heart when you speak as you would with your fishing or hunting buddy. He is available at a moment’s notice to let you vent, to let you cry, to let you confess and to let you change. When you need Him most He will make Himself known to you. For all these things, pray thanks to Jesus. Whatever you pray, please know that it will fit. It always does. Unlike man made items, prayer of any size truly does fit all. Now that you know this, offer one to every one you meet and offer one to Jesus for someone who needs it but doesn't know how to ask.

Believe in its power for those who don't. Speak it, when others cannot. Then thank Father God for listening. Continue to pray for Canada as we celebrate yet another Canada Day, and also remember our friends and neighbors among us who are from, and in the United States as they prepare to celebrate their Independence Day next week.
