Our Father Knows Best

Welcome everyone as I introduce you to my new bi-weekly column “Our Father Knows Best”. For the past five years, I have been submitting a weekly message of encouragement, or “photograph” if you will, of how God makes His presence known to us every day.   Thank you for the opportunity to continue sharing how God is alive and well in us, and how He remains ever present with us, even when we are unaware.

God is real. He is alive, loving, patient, forgiving and He wants everything that is good for all of us. Times have changed over the years and not for the best. There was a time when prayer was part of society’s daily routine and Sunday was truly a day of rest to spend thankful time with Jesus. As mankind and technology seemingly advances, God is being ushered to the sidelines. His importance and, unfortunately, even His very existence are being denied.
.
That being said, there is hope. God is bigger than any of these issues. He always makes a way for His message or His Word to reach all of us. He uses the media of this publication either in print or on-line. He gave the tool of social media to the world knowing full well the power of communication. Many will use these to deny Him yet He cannot be silenced. Man may close a window but Jesus will just open a door. God still owns the world. Psalm 24:1 tells us this; “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it” NIV. He prompts ordinary people like you and me to keep telling the world that there is hope in Him.

When we show the world the face of Jesus by how we treat each other in love, then eventually even those who say they don’t believe will come to know Him. Those who are estranged from Him will come back to Him and those who think they are not worthy of His love and grace, will accept Him. God has given us two commandments, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and love your neighbour as yourself” Matthew 22:37-39 NIV. Let’s all try this starting today, after all, our Father really does know best.
