The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘Look Up Not Down’
Day
1: Proverbs 3:1-4 – “My child, never forget the things I have
taught you. Store my commands in your heart. If you do this, you will live many
years, and your life will be satisfying. Never let loyalty and kindness leave
you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your
heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a
good reputation.”
Day 2: 1
Thessalonians 5:16 – “Always be joyful.”
Day
3: Proverbs 4:20-27 – “My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep
into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to
their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course
of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look
straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight
path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your
feet from following evil.”
Day
4: Romans 12:2 – “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then
you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and
perfect.”
Day
5: Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day the Lord has made. We will
rejoice and be glad in it.”
Day
6: Philippians 4:9 – “Keep putting into practice all you
learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing.
Then the God of peace will be with you.”
Day
7: Philippians 4:8 – “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one
final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and
pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy
of praise.”
