The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘What is Christmas?’
Day
1: Isaiah 7:14 – “All right then, the Lord himself will give you the
sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and
will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”
Day 2: Isaiah
9:6, 7
– “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on
his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never
end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor
David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of
Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”
Day 3: Titus
3:3-7
– “Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves
to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated
each other. But – When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved
us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy
Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our
Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us
confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”
Day 4: 1
John 5:11
– “And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this
life is in his Son.”
Day 5: John
1:14
– “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of
unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the
Father’s one and only Son.”
Day 6:
Luke 2:11
– “The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born today in Bethlehem,
the city of David!”
Day 7: John
1:12
– “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become
children of God.”
