The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘Stay Focused’
Day 1:
Psalm 91:14, 15 – “The Lord says, ‘I will rescue those who love
me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me,
I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor
them.’”
Day 2:
Proverbs 2:2-5 – “Tune your ears to wisdom, and
concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for
understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them
like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear
the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.”
Day 3:
Colossians 2:6-8 – “And now, just as you accepted
Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots
grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will
grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Don’t
let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that
come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world,
rather than from Christ.”
Day 4:
Hebrews 10:22, 23 – “... let us go right into the
presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty
consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our
bodies have been washed with pure water. Let us hold tightly without
wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”
Day 5:
Psalm 32:8 – “The Lord says, ‘I will guide you
along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over
you.’”
Day 6:
Hebrews 12:1, 2 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by
such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every
weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And
let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping
our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our
faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross,
disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s
throne.”
Day 7: 2
Timothy 2:15 – “Work hard so you can present yourself
to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be
ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.”
