The Tree of Life

We are on holidays in Nova Scotia and were so blessed to spend time in the Garden of Eden. Friends of ours, Mike and Ardith, have a place on a lake, Garden of Eden. They are on the outflow of the lake and there is a serenity that can not be explained. Just before their son Chris left to visit relatives down the road, he built up a fire for us and we pulled up our Adirondacks to enjoy the warmth. Mike told us how the deer were eating from the fruit trees around the property. Two of the trees he talked of were foreign to me; one he called a fruit cocktail and the other was a five apple tree. The one tree had grafts which produces a variety of citrus fruits on the same tree while the apple tree produced numerous types of apples. A cabin, on the Garden of Eden, with trees that produce a wide variety of fruit, as many types as there are months, this got me to thinking about a passage in the book of Revelation – a promise of the future from our Lord.

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
Revelation 22:1‭-‬5 ESV

There is such peace when you stand on the word of God and claim His promise of an eternity in Glory with no worries or fear. His promise is fulfilled when those seeking His promise claim Christ as their Saviour and ask Jesus to take away their sins. When I asked His forgiveness and accepted Him as my Lord and Saviour, there was such a peace and joy. This is a joy that is available for anyone who seeks it.

This weekend, we welcome Rev. Glenn Reeder and celebrate the love of Christ! Sunday service streams on Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/todd.macdonald.3158 and starts at 10:30 am MST. We invite you to interact with us as we live stream and join us as we celebrate.

Shalom

Pastor Todd
