The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘Building Your Faith Through His Words’
Day 1: Romans 10:17 - Hear the Word –
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard
through the word about Christ.”
Day 2: Psalm 119:103-105 - Meditate on the Word –
“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain
understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word
is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Day 3: 2 Peter 1:5-7 - Work on the Word – “For
this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to
goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control,
perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual
affection; and to mutual affection, love.”
Day 4: James 1:2-4 - Grow in the Word –
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of
many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces
perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and
complete, not lacking anything.”
Day 5: 1 John 5:14, 15 - Confidence in the Word –
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything
according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever
we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.”
Day 6: James 1:22-24 - Use the Word – “Do not
merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone
who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks
at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately
forgets what he looks like.”
Day 7: 1 Peter 3:15 - Share the Word – “But in
your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do
this with gentleness and respect…”
