The Perfect 7-day Diet – Peter’s Picks
‘Are You God’s Hands?’
Day 1: James 2:14-17 – “What good is it, my brothers and
sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save
them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one
of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing
about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself,
if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
Day 2: Philippians 2:3, 4 – “Do nothing out of
selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above
yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests
of the others.”
Day 3: Romans 12:13 – “Share with the Lord’s
people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”
Day 4: Proverbs 3:27, 28 – “Do not withhold good
from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to
your neighbor, ‘Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you’ - when you already
have it with you.”
Day 5: 1 John 3:17, 18 – “If anyone has material
possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how
can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with
words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
Day 6: Luke 6:38 – “Give, and it will be given to
you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be
poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to
you.”
Day 7: Proverbs 19:17 – “Whoever is kind to the
poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
