Remembrance Day has come and gone. Christmas songs are
slowly replacing thoughts and memories of the travesty of wars gone by and
decorations begin to appear from out of nowhere. While we should not downplay
the importance of remembering those who served and sacrificed, we shift now to
the message of hope through our Saviour. Consider the title of this article.
Everything we see on television is of doom and gloom because good news stories
do not sell. News agencies clamour to bring stories of destruction and calamity
to keep their audience glued to the television. How many people would be
captivated by an entire hour of good news messages? Joy to the world, that is
our wish and our prayer for all mankind, what’s wrong with that?
In Romans 15:13 (ERV) it is written:
I pray
that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust
in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by
the power of the Holy Spirit.
What we fill our hearts and mind with is what we will
project to the world. We can choose our attitude right off the hop before out
feet hit the floor in the morning. I can face the world with moaning and
groaning, complaining about the lack of light or the brightness of the sun or I
can take a few minutes and pray for God to fill me with His joy and peace, in
that lies the hope of a glorious day. Let His love flow in and through us all
so that we may be the light and joy of the Holy Spirit for those seeking hope.
This Sunday we celebrate the joy of the Lord. We invite you
to join us in person or online at 10:30 MST or you can watch live on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MainAvenueFellowship/)
or view it afterwards on our website (www.mainavefellowship.blogspot.ca).
Blessings
